The day will include a Herding Instinct Testing followed by a meeting and potluck lunch at Dennis and Cindy Shea’s The Herding Instinct Testing will be given by Tracy Parciak, a herding judge, at her place in Wright City, MO starting at 9:00 a.m. (time could change, depending on how many dogs want to participate) Lunch will be held at 1:00 PM followed by a club business meeting. Cost for the herding instinct test is $25 per dog Prior to working dogs, Tracy will give basic herding information and how the ‘handler’ works the dog. Tracy, the dog and the owner will be in the ring with her sheep. The dog will be on a long line at first and Tracy will watch how the dog works the sheep. After each dog, she will explain what she saw. Bring your own shade if the day is warm, water for both you and your dog and a chair. Wear ‘dirt shoes’ or boots. It’s not going to be the cleanest activity...
